First Alert CO Detector — 10-Year Battery with Digital Display (CO710)
Product description
This carbon monoxide alarm is supplied with the detector itself plus the simple mounting hardware needed to hang it on a wall or set it on a tabletop. The housing is durable plastic and measures about 5" x 2.5", allowing the unit to be unobtrusive on a dresser or a shelf. Inside is an electrochemical CO sensor, the preferred technology for accurate carbon monoxide measurement. The unit’s backlit digital screen shows the current carbon monoxide concentration and ambient temperature; a Peak Level feature captures the highest reading recorded.
Power comes from an internal 10‑year lithium battery, eliminating routine battery swaps for the life of the alarm. When CO reaches hazardous levels the device emits an 85‑decibel alarm; a test/silence button lets you verify operation or temporarily mute nuisance alerts. The alarm also produces an end‑of‑life chirp when its service period ends. Built and tested to meet UL safety standards, the detector includes a limited 10‑year warranty from the date of purchase when proof of the original receipt is provided.

VerdictA straightforward, dependable carbon monoxide alarm that uses an electrochemical sensor and a decade-long internal lithium battery to provide long-term CO monitoring. It’s simple to place on a dresser or mount o

Perfect for Frequent Trips
Bought it before a stretch of travel where CO detectors were inconsistent; it’s compact enough for carry-on and gives real peace of mind. Still running on the original battery after years of use.

Dependable Long-Term Protection
My previous First Alert lasted about a decade before its end-of-life chirp, so I bought the same style again. Setup was quick using the provided instructions and I mounted it where the manual recommends.

Works Well, Battery Was Shorter Than Expected
Practical and effective in daily use. I expected a longer battery life but it lasted a couple of months for me; there is a plug-in option to keep it powered continuously. Good value overall.

Travel and Boat Essential
We bring this CO alarm everywhere — boats, rentals, and trips. Once we forgot it on a mountain and woke with headaches after a fire in the hut; now it’s always in our pack. Battery life has been excellent, the temperature readout is handy, and the alarm is loud enough to wake you.

For My Son’s Dorm Room
I purchased one for my child heading to college. Dorms and rentals may not keep detectors maintained, so this portable unit gives extra peace of mind. Small footprint and easy to place on a shelf or dresser.

Five Stars — So Far
So far it’s been excellent. With a 10-year battery I’ll revisit this review down the road.

Small, Functional CO Monitor
Compact at roughly 5" x 2.5" and unobtrusive on a dresser or wall. I like the constant temperature readout; I wish the display showed a zero CO reading to reassure you it’s active, but otherwise it’s solid.
