Anti-Slip Traction Tape 4" x 16' — Yellow/Black Hazard Grip
Product description
Non-slip traction roll: a 4-inch-wide, 16-foot-long (~5 m) adhesive strip with a gritty, abrasive surface designed to improve footing on steps and walkways.
High-contrast finish: supplied in a yellow-and-black hazard stripe pattern to both increase traction and mark hazardous edges or transitions.
Durable adhesive backing: comes with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer protected by a peel-off liner; adheres to painted wood, composite decking, concrete, metal and many other common surfaces when applied to a clean, dry area.
How to apply: clean and dry the surface thoroughly, trim the tape to the required length with scissors or a utility knife, remove the liner, press the tape firmly in place and smooth to remove any bubbles or gaps. Works for indoor and outdoor locations including stairs, ramps, thresholds and wheelchair ramps.
Performance notes: designed for long-lasting grip, it provides strong initial tack and resists lifting when installed correctly. Expected wear varies by traffic, weather and surface preparation; periodic inspection is recommended.
Pros
- High-contrast hazard stripes for visibility
- Strong adhesive bonds to many substrates
- 4" width on a 16' roll covers multiple steps
Cons
- Appearance may vary slightly from product images
- Adhesion needs a clean, dry surface for best results
- Grit will wear over time in heavy-traffic areas
VerdictThis 4" x 16' anti-slip tape delivers dependable grip for stairs, ramps and walkways. The coarse, abrasive face and aggressive adhesive cling to clean, dry substrates (wood, composite, metal, concrete). Colors are high-contrast for visual warning. Best for preventing slips in moderate-traffic residential and light commercial settings; longevity depends on exposure and foot traffic.

Color wasn’t what I expected
The listing called the color brown, but the roll I received leaned toward a reddish-brown with a noticeable sparkle. I was disappointed by the shade.

Installed on a wheelchair ramp — happy users
We applied this tape to a new wheelchair ramp and it has made a noticeable difference. My parents are pleased with the added grip so far.

Solid solution for slippery porch steps
I needed something for composite porch steps that become slick when wet. Application was straightforward: peel the backing, cut with scissors, press down, and the adhesive grabbed immediately. After months of rain and wide temperature swings it hasn’t lifted or bubbled, and it gives reliable traction when damp.

Good grip; adhesion depends on prep
This tape offers strong traction—about like 80-grit sandpaper—and the adhesive holds well when placed on a clean, scrubbed surface. I used two 4" strips inside a garage door with a gap between them so there’s always grip underfoot. Time will tell how long it lasts in heavy use, but it’s worth it if it prevents a fall.
