Stainless Steel Handheld Pot Strainer — Pasta & Pan Drainer
Product description
Handheld strainer for pots: place the curved edge on the rim of a saucepan or skillet, grip the pot, tip and pour away hot liquid while the strainer holds back pasta, vegetables or fruit. The device keeps food in the cooking vessel so it can stay warm or continue simmering.
Built from stainless steel, this pan drainer resists heat and won’t warp or melt with normal stovetop use. Its fine perforated surface captures small pieces so peas, grains and thin noodles won’t slip through. The crescent/half-moon profile is intended to rest on the lip of many different pots and pans.
Size and care: overall dimensions are 36 × 6.5 cm (about 14.17 × 2.55 inches), making it much smaller than a traditional colander and easy to store in a drawer or hang. It’s dishwasher-safe for easy cleanup.
What’s included: one stainless steel handheld pot strainer, color: silver. Materials: stainless steel construction with a dense perforation pattern for reliable draining.
Notes: measurements are taken by hand so there may be a slight variance. Monitor differences in screen displays for minor color variation.
Pros
- Compact, space-saving design
- Durable, heat-resistant stainless steel
- Fine mesh prevents food loss
Cons
- Only one size; may not suit all cookware
- Shallow depth for larger portions
- Requires steadier two-handed operation
VerdictA simple, robust tool for draining hot water without transferring food to a full colander. Made from heat-resistant stainless steel with a crescent edge that hooks onto most cookware, it’s compact for easy storage and quick to clean. Best for cooks who want a fast, space-saving drain method, though its single size and shallow depth may not suit every pot or personal preference.

Great with a suggestion
Useful for draining pans, but it would be even better if the rim had a lip on both sides for left- and right-handed use.

Handy and hard to find
So simple to grab for draining pasta or veggies without losing food down the sink. Surprisingly uncommon tool.

Solid and safe to use
Easier to clean than a full colander. The lip means you hold the strainer in one hand and the pot in the other; awkward at first but safer around hot water.

Good but a bit large
Works fine and is easy to clean. I wish it came in smaller sizes—this one sits a little big on my pots.

Lightweight, could be deeper
Very easy to use — one hand on pan, one on strainer. Made of metal so it won’t melt. I’d prefer a deeper bowl though.

Exactly what I remembered
I’d used one like this for decades and missed it when mine broke. It clips to the pot edge so you can pour water away without losing food. Arrived fast and washes up easily.
