Master Lock TSA Combination Cable Luggage Lock (Set-Your-Own)
Product description
This TSA-accepted combination cable lock is a set-your-own, three-digit travel lock intended to secure checked bags, carry-ons, backpacks and small cases. Transportation security officials can open and relock bags secured with this type of lock without cutting it off, so inspected luggage can be resealed.
The lock features a metal body for strength and longevity. The flexible shackle is a vinyl-covered braided steel cable that resists abrasion and gives a little give when bumped by baggage-handling equipment, reducing the chance of being knocked off. The lock body measures 1-3/16 inch (30 millimeters) wide. The cable diameter is 1/8 inch (3 millimeters); the usable loop length is approximately 1-1/2 inches (38 millimeters), and the cable width where it seats measures about 5/8 inch (16 millimeters).
Users set a personal three-digit combination to lock and unlock the unit, avoiding the need for keys. Typical uses include luggage and backpack security, tent or gate closures, tool chests and small storage cases where a compact, inspectable lock is needed.
The product is built by a recognized lock manufacturer and is backed by the brand’s limited lifetime coverage, offering reassurance about materials and workmanship for regular travel use.
Pros
- TSA-accepted — can be opened and relocked by screeners
- Vinyl-covered braided steel cable is flexible and durable
- Set-your-own 3-digit code — no key required
Cons
- Combination dials can be hard to read in some lighting
- Reset button may feel stiff to operate
- Cable is flexible but not impervious to cutting
VerdictA dependable TSA-accepted option for travelers who want a flexible, keyless solution. It offers a durable metal housing and a vinyl-covered braided steel cable that tolerates rough handling. Easy to program and useful across luggage, backpacks and storage cases, though some users find the dial visibility and reset feel less than ideal.

Compact and handy
These are small, lightweight and versatile. The size works for many applications and they’re convenient to carry.

Basic travel lock
Simple, dependable and good for general travel use.

Poor visibility and awkward action
The recessed metal numerals reflect light and are hard to read, and the unlocking motion is unintuitive. For visibility and ease, I wouldn’t pick this design.

Locks securely, reset button firm
Perfect for my trip. Changing the combo took a bit of effort because the reset button is stiff, but once programmed they hold the zippers securely.

Durable for outdoor use
I use these around a kennel for gate latches and they last well outdoors. Very durable for the price and size; I’d recommend them.

Solid, keyless and sturdy
We replaced lost keyed locks with these and liked the sturdiness. The combination was simple to set and the cable feeds easily through zipper pulls. Bought two colors and have been happy with the build quality.

Flexible, secure and travel-ready
The bendable cable reaches tight spots and stayed secure through domestic and European trips. I recommend it for travel use.

Good value but unusual operation
It performs as intended, but the vertical order of the digits and the tiny alignment dots take getting used to. The unlocking motion differs from other padlocks.

Reliable luggage lock
I’ve only used it on suitcases. The combination is easy to change if you follow the steps, the cable looks sturdy and TSA access is reassuring.

High-quality little lock
Attractive, easy to set and solid. It performed well on a recent trip and convinced me to buy more.

Survives heavy travel; carry spares
Easy to set and they fit my Pelican cases well. They take a beating on international trips, but screeners sometimes remove them, so I travel with extras preset to my code. The red one is easy to spot.
