ELEGOO Mars 4 Ultra 7" 9K Mono LCD MSLA Resin 3D Printer
Product description
What’s included: the Mars 4 Ultra resin 3D printer with 7-inch 9K mono LCD, tempered protective glass, a laser-textured build plate, a resin vat fitted with ACF release liner film, an external power supply, and a multilingual user guide. The package also includes the four-point leveling hardware and the 4-inch HD IPS touch panel for on-device control.
Screen and optics: a 7" monochrome LCD shows a native 8520 × 4320 pixels, yielding an 18 µm XY resolution for extremely fine surface detail. The display sits beneath a 9H hardness tempered glass sheet to resist scratches and sustain everyday use.
Controller and connectivity: the printer runs a Linux-based OS with 4 GB of RAM for smoother menu navigation and quicker file handling. Wireless transfer works over both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands; reported practical transfer rates are in the single-digit megabits per second range, which is convenient for slicing files without a USB stick.
Build area and materials: the usable build envelope is approximately 6.5 × 6.04 × 3.06 inches, suitable for multi-part miniature plates, small models, and functional prints. The build plate features a laser-etched surface to improve bite for first layers, while the included ACF release liner film reduces suction during peel cycles to raise the success rate at faster print speeds.
Setup and operation: a 4-point leveling workflow simplifies initial calibration—after performing a proper leveling routine, many users find they do not need to re-level before every print. The 4" IPS touch screen (800 × 480) supports a dozen-plus languages and offers straightforward on-device controls for print start, exposure adjustment, and maintenance tasks.
Pros
- Exceptionally high XY resolution from the 9K mono LCD
- Fast, responsive Linux-based interface with 4 GB RAM
- ACF release film and laser-textured plate improve print success
Cons
- Some users report quality-control issues on arrival
- Screen replacement and repairs can be frustrating
- Wi‑Fi setup can be fiddly for some networks
VerdictThe Mars 4 Ultra delivers extremely fine detail thanks to its 9K 7" mono LCD and 18 µm XY resolution, plus a hardened glass cover for durability. Its Linux-based controller with 4 GB of memory improves responsiveness, and built-in 2.4/5 GHz Wi‑Fi removes the need for cables. The four-point leveling and laser-textured build plate (with ACF release liner film) are intended to boost first-layer adhes

Very good printer for the money
Solid machine — I recommend it for its price and print quality.

Good start — enjoying the learning curve
Really liking it so far. I’m still learning resin workflows but getting progressively better with each print.

One of the best SLA units I’ve used
After months of use it stands out as one of the best SLA printers I’ve owned. I had trouble connecting it to Wi‑Fi at first and used USB for months, so I dock one star for that. It’s quiet, rarely needs re-leveling, and with a carbon filter fumes are much reduced. Speed and print quality surpass earlier Mars models.

Screen died in under two months — poor service
The screen stopped working after about six weeks — prints came out as a flat sheet. Support offered a replacement, but guidance on disassembly omitted details about excessive hot glue on connectors; while following it I damaged a motor cable plug and they refused to replace it for free. The replacement that arrived later had a faulty ribbon and produced mirrored prints. I won’t buy from this brand again.

Intuitive and high-quality prints, language resources needed
The machine is easy to use and prints are high quality. I couldn’t find a Spanish leveling video and had to subtitle a Portuguese tutorial, but once I understood cleaning and post-curing the results were great. Be careful handling resin — it’s toxic and requires attention.

Leveling nightmare — but fixable with care
After an initial unit with leveling issues I received a replacement and saw the same behavior. I discovered a reliable process: remove the vat, loosen all four screws, set Z to zero with a feeler card, press the plate to the card, tighten, then fine-tune Z offset by -0.1 mm steps until the card barely moves. Once leveled and with correct exposures I ran batches of 3–7 prints without re-leveling.

Impressive for a first 3D resin printer
This is my first 3D printer and it exceeded expectations. I had one user-error issue, but overall the product quality and delivery timing were excellent. Very satisfied.

Great speed and quality, but watch for light leaks
I’m on the fence about keeping it. Pros: very fast (pieces that took 10+ hours in FDM done in 3–4 hours), excellent surface finish, and an adequate build volume if you arrange parts wisely. Cons: I noticed a light leak around the touchscreen that could lead to failure, and shortly after my purchase it went on discount—felt frustrating. Assembly seems sturdy, but the panel light issue is a concern.

Support responded quickly and replaced the plate
Build quality is good overall, but my original build plate had low spots. I emailed tech support and got a helpful reply the next day. I sent a photo and they shipped a replacement which arrived in four days. The new plate works perfectly and I’m printing miniatures and dice now.

Less hassle than FDM — prints great out of the box
Much easier than my temperamental FDM machines and far better finish. I followed the level procedure, added resin, and printed a rook from USB without trouble. I had a similar-brand unit that threw random screen-connection errors; rather than risk that I returned it and chose this Elegoo. Very happy so far.

Arrived with a bent leadscrew — disappointing QC
Upgrading from an older, low-res printer, I hoped for a big jump in quality. The machine printed, but the leadscrew was bent at the motor end and the axis wobbled about an inch, producing visible artifacts. The linear rail felt solid and the print completed, but the bent screw ruined otherwise good results. Had to return it.
