SanDisk Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Type B — 256GB High-Speed
Product description
The SanDisk Extreme PRO CFexpress Card Type B is a high-performance removable storage card intended for professional stills and video workflows. It’s offered in multiple capacities (including 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB) and presented in the compact Type B CFexpress form factor suitable for cameras and readers that accept this standard.
Performance varies by capacity: the 512GB variant reaches up to 1700 MB/s read and up to 1400 MB/s write; the 128GB and 256GB cards can hit up to 1700 MB/s read and up to 1200 MB/s write; the 64GB card is specified around 1500 MB/s read and up to 800 MB/s write. Stated speeds come from internal testing; real-world throughput may be lower depending on the host device, settings, file characteristics and other factors. Note: 1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes and 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes; usable capacity will be less than the nominal capacity due to formatting and system files.
Designed to facilitate smooth capture of RAW 4K video and high-bitrate frame sequences, the card reduces latency during sustained recording and accelerates offload times for large media volumes. The CFexpress Type B card can also be used in some XQD camera models that become CFexpress-compatible after the camera manufacturer issues and the user installs a firmware update enabling CFexpress support.
RescuePRO Deluxe data recovery software is included as a downloadable package (registration required and terms apply). As with any high-performance card, the device may warm under prolonged heavy loads. Warranty terms and limited-lifetime offers vary by region and local regulations, so check the manufacturer’s support information for specifics.

Works great in my Canon EOS R6 Mark III
Expands buffer capacity for long burst shooting and handled 7K video without hiccups. I use an inexpensive USB-C reader and it works on Mac and Windows. Cards warm during intense transfers, which is expected.

Super fast and authentic
Looks genuine and performs flawlessly in my Canon R6 III. Transfers are extremely quick — I moved 37GB of footage in just a few minutes. It does heat up after heavy use, though. Given the performance, I’d buy it again.

Compatibility caveats with some readers
My Mac Studio setup with older daisy-chained docks revealed that not all readers support CFexpress. The newer dock supports CFexpress, but check system reports and port/reader specs before assuming compatibility.

Daily workhorse
I use many of these cards daily across camera bodies and they’ve never let me down. I prefer smaller cards and frequent swaps; they handle repeated fills, deletes and format cycles without issues.
