Rockville Cube Black 3.5" 2‑Way Wall Speakers (Pair) — 8Ω Home Theater
Product description
What’s included: a matched pair of Rockville Cube Black wall speakers, each fitted with a swivel wall bracket for 360° aiming and Euro‑block terminals for fast hookups.
Drivers and materials: each speaker uses a 3.5" paper‑cone woofer to deliver clear midrange and a 0.5" PEI dome tweeter to reproduce high frequencies with good clarity. The cabinets are molded ABS and come with a protective, shielded grille to keep dust out.
Size and weight: each cube measures approximately 4.13" x 4.72" x 4.13" and weighs about 1.32 lbs, making them easy to place in tight areas or mount in multiples around a room.
Power and performance: rated at 8 ohms, these satellites are specified around 30W RMS (75W peak) per speaker with a frequency response that typically spans roughly 130 Hz to 20 kHz and a sensitivity in the mid‑80 dB range. They’re best paired with a small to medium power amp or AVR and benefit from a subwoofer for deep bass.
Use cases: well suited as surrounds, height channels, or compact front/secondary speakers in 2.1, 5.1 or 7.1 systems. Their compact footprint and adjustable angle make them appropriate for living rooms, bedrooms, RVs, or light commercial environments where discreet, wall‑mounted sound is desired.
Pros
- True two‑way driver arrangement for clearer highs and mids
- Included 360° swivel brackets for flexible aiming
- Compact, lightweight ABS cabinets with shielded grilles
Cons
- Limited low‑end performance without a subwoofer
- Can distort when pushed to high volumes
- Tweeter can be forward in the tonal balance on some units
VerdictThese Rockville Cube Black speakers deliver surprisingly usable sound for their size and price. The true two‑way design produces clear highs and respectable mids at low to moderate volumes, and the included 360° swivel brackets make positioning simple. They aren’t meant to be primary high‑output monitors — bass is limited and they become strained at high levels — but as surround, height, or backgr

Good little speakers
They sound good to me. Small and surprisingly loud for surround duties.

Good for Atmos heights, not ideal for rears
Compact and inexpensive height speakers that work for limited Atmos duty. The included mount only allows a modest angle, so check placement needs. Tone isn’t refined but acceptable for height effects. Too directional for my rear surround application, so I chose different speakers for those positions.

Do the job as surrounds
Purchased as rear surrounds. Not for audiophiles, but they improved the overall sound and fit the space well.

Solid replacement choice
Replaced failing JBL fronts with these and the sound is great for the swap. Value and performance were both pleasing.

Decent, but frequency spec seems optimistic
They sound okay, but I doubt they truly reach down to 130Hz—I’d estimate usable low end closer to 180Hz.

Perfect fit for our RV
Installed in a vintage motorhome where space is tight. Their small footprint and simple mounts made installation easy, they look clean and sound much better than the TV speakers. Don’t expect deep bass—add a sub if you need it—but for multi‑location mounting and better sound than stock speakers, these are a very practical choice.

Good low‑profile surrounds for my 5.1
Bought these to complete a 5.1 system where looks and low visibility mattered as much as sound. I have MartinLogan fronts and a Pioneer receiver; these were intended only for surrounds. Small white satellites are hard to find and these installed easily with everything included. They won’t win audio contests, but they do the job and my partner likes the appearance in the room.

Quick install, very pleased
Fast to mount and the quick‑release speaker leads are handy. I bought four for a surround setup and the sound has been great.

Returned due to tonal issues
I ended up returning them. Pros: they look nice, are inexpensive for a two‑way, and the safety cables gave peace of mind. Cons: the quick‑disconnect terminals required a tool to secure wires, the tweeter can be overly forward, and the cabinets are too small to deliver meaningful low bass. In my side‑by‑side comparison with a higher‑end speaker the tonal balance felt off.

Nice and sturdy
Solid little speakers with dependable mounting brackets.

Not ideal for critical listening
I used these with a Pyle amp and found they work best with lower‑power amplification. At quiet to moderate volumes they perform nicely and look much better on a counter than bulky bookshelf boxes. Drive them hard and they lose composure. Perfect as low‑powered Atmos or rear channels, but not something I'd use as main stereo speakers. Good for light background music—great fit for the friend I installed them for.
