1.5" Extended Barrel Curling Iron — 24K Gold Large Barrel for Loose Waves
Product description
24K gold surface: This curling iron features a 24K gold-coated barrel that heats rapidly and spreads temperature evenly across the metal to help minimize over-styling damage.
Extended barrel design: The longer barrel provides additional space to wrap longer strands and to access sections near the scalp or the nape, making it suitable for long hair and bob-length styles.
What’s included and sizing: The tool comes with a built-in styling clamp and a 1.5 inch diameter barrel for creating large, soft curls and voluminous waves. The clamp aids in producing smoother, more controlled ringlets while wrapping larger sections.
Temperature and controls: Digital temperature control with a button interface and memory recall lets you choose from five heat levels up to 450°F so you can tailor the setting to fine, medium, or coarse hair. The fast heat-up and consistent output aim to style hair in fewer passes.
Professional build and warranty: Engineered for frequent use by stylists, the unit is made for salon durability and backed by a seven-year warranty. Its construction and control layout prioritize precision, repeatable results, and long-term reliability.

Perfect for beginners
Easy to use even though I usually only flat iron my hair. Heats up quickly and makes smooth curls on my thick, slightly wavy hair. My self-styled photo isn’t perfect yet, but the curls look great.

Fantastic tool and excellent value
Powerful performance for the price — creates soft, relaxed waves with ease. The wide gold barrel heats evenly and slides through hair smoothly, holding style without frying strands. Great for longer hair.

Watch your skin near the barrel
Heats up fast and delivers beautiful results, and it has a stand for resting on surfaces. Because the barrel is large and gets very hot, it’s easy to burn your skin if you’re not careful.

Curls smoothly and fast
Heats quickly and produces neat, frizz-free curls. I miss the old dial for temperature adjustment since this one uses a push button, but overall it works really well.

Blowout-style finish every time
The wider barrel gives that blown-out bend I want for long hair or a long bob. It gets hotter than some other brands at the same setting and the shape lasts all day without product. I reach for it several times a week.

Best curling iron I’ve owned
I have a lot of fine, frizz-prone hair and this iron never dents my waves. It grips and rolls my hair smoothly and keeps shape for days. The end has a grip-friendly spot so I can angle it without burning my fingers.

Did not heat properly
This unit failed to reach proper heat levels for me. Cheaper irons I’ve owned performed better; disappointed with this one.

Salon-worthy, natural waves
Best curler I’ve bought — very easy to use and the clamp helps. Heats well and gives a professional, salon finish every time. Strongly recommended.

Not as extended as expected
I ordered an extended barrel but this arrived closer to a regular length — shorter than my other Hot Tools extended barrels. It also felt a bit flimsy compared with the professional model I own.

Swivel cord is disappointing
I much prefer the older model with the twist temperature dial. This version’s swivel cord doesn’t rotate well, so it tangles as I work and slows me down. It also seems to catch a bit more on strands than my older Hot Tools irons.

Dual-voltage and dependable
Always my go-to. The gold coating helps protect daily-styled hair and the dual-voltage makes travel easier without heavy adapters. Long cord and a decent swivel help reduce tangles.
