California Design Den Queen Cotton Sateen Sheet Set — Taupe, 400 TC
Product description
Material & Weave: Constructed from single-ply, 100% long-staple cotton in a smooth sateen weave and finished at a 400 thread count for a soft hand and subtle sheen. Independently tested and recipient of a 2026 Good Housekeeping Best Bedding award and seal.
What’s in the Set & Sizing: The four-piece queen set contains 1 flat sheet, 1 fitted sheet with all-around elastic designed to fit mattresses from 8" to 16" (deep pockets), and 2 standard/queen pillowcases with open ends. Finished dimensions: Flat Sheet — 90" W x 102" L; Fitted Sheet — 60" W x 80" L; Pillowcases — 21" W x 32" L. Top and bottom orientation tags on the fitted sheet make bedmaking straightforward.
Color Note: The taupe option is a medium warm brown with gentle golden undertones; it sits between tan and brown rather than being a deep chocolate or pale beige.
Comfort & Performance: The lightweight sateen construction gives a smooth, almost silky surface that softens with repeated laundering while remaining breathable and comfortable for most sleepers. The cotton is naturally ventilating to help regulate temperature overnight.
Care & Durability: Designed for routine home laundering, these sheets are tested for pilling, fading and shrinkage; they typically become softer after washing. Recommended care: machine wash warm, tumble dry low and remove promptly to minimize wrinkles.
Ethics & Packaging: Thread count figures are laboratory-verified to within a small margin of variance. The brand reports donating over 56,000 sheet sets nationwide in recent years and ships in recyclable, plastic-free packaging as part of its quality and responsibility commitments.

Breathable, well-made and easy care
Happy with the queen set. Much better than our old microfiber—these breathe so we stay cool and don’t get clammy. The deep pockets fit our thick mattress without tugging, and the all-around elastic keeps the fitted sheet in place.

Very happy with this set
Very pleased. We pre-washed before using on our guest bed; smoothed the edges before drying and they looked great. Color matched the photo and overall quality is good. Recommended.

Beautifully made sateen with great feel
I purchased both percale and sateen from the same maker and both are excellent. The percale is cooler and almost crisp-cold to the touch, while these sateen sheets are smooth and very soft without being heavy. No noticeable sheen in my bedroom lighting; overall extremely comfortable and high quality.

Softest true cotton sheets I’ve found
These are hands-down the softest 100% cotton sheets I own. They wash extremely well and hardly wrinkle except at hems (which I choose to iron). Crisp and soft in bed—I only buy 100% cotton from this brand now.

Hotel-style softness without the markup
I wanted luxury-level sheets without spending a fortune and these delivered. The 400 TC long-staple cotton is silky and breathable straight from the box and gets even softer with washing. The subtle pinstripe elevates the look, and the 16" pockets stayed put all night. Excellent value compared to pricier labels.

On par with higher-end favorites
These sateen sheets rival other expensive brands we’ve owned. They launder well and dried quickly on low heat. The deep pockets handled our thick mattress and pad with no slipping. Only washed once so far, but no pilling and they felt surprisingly cool for sateen. Glad I found them—would have paid less earlier.

Pleasantly surprised — very comfortable
I waited for a sale and ordered these. They arrived, I washed and dried on low as directed, and they were easy to put on. The fitted sheet fit my mattress fine; the top sheet felt slightly narrower than I expected but is still adequate. We slept on them the first night and found them super soft. A nice, affordable find.

Love them, but follow the prep advice
I read many reviews before buying and most praise them. They arrived with a noticeable odor that faded after the first wash, as the insert recommended. I noticed a few loose thread tails at seams but nothing major for the price. Washed once and they performed well.

Added more sets — consistent quality
I like this brand a lot. Softness and the top/bottom tag on the fitted sheet make it easy to get the bed made right every time.
